We are extremely pleased to announce that the Universitäts-und Landesbibliothek Darmstadt has joined the Open Library of Humanities' Library Partnership Subsidy system. The ULB Darmstadt is the Central University Library of the Technische Universität Darmstadt and serves research, teaching and studies at the TU Darmstadt. It is the scientific universal library for the population of Darmstadt and southern Hesse as well as for the educational and research institutions, authorities, cultural institutes and companies located there. Since 1805 it is the depository library for the area of southern Hesse and the Giessen region.
The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.
Professor Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed the ULB Darmstadt: “We are delighted to have the support of the ULB Darmstadt. It is only with the support of many institutions that we can achieve our goal of high-quality OA in the humanities, without any author-facing charges.”
