University of Lincoln joins OLH LPS model

We are extremely pleased to announce that the University of Lincoln has joined the Open Library of Humanities’ Library Partnership Subsidy system. The University of Lincoln is one of the UK’s best modern universities (according to The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016).

The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.

Dr. Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed the University of Lincoln: “I am delighted that the University of Lincoln has joined the OLH LPS model. The Open Library of Humanities began its life at Lincoln and it was thanks to the generous initial support of senior management that we were able to launch the platform. It is, therefore, wonderful to have Lincoln’s ongoing support in our mission to make high-quality scholarship available to everyone and not just to those who can pay.”

Ian Snowley, University Librarian, the University of Lincoln said: “The Humanities remains the area where Open Access is yet to have the impact it needs. I’m confident that the OLH is an effective and affordable way to bring about the required step change in humanities publishing.”
