Ohio University joins OLH LPS model

We are extremely pleased to announce that Ohio University has joined the Open Library of Humanities' Library Partnership Subsidy system. Ohio University is a highly-ranked research institution, rated within the top 3% of higher education institutions globally according to the Center for World University Rankings.

The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With initial funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.

Dr. Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed Ohio: “I am delighted that Ohio University has joined the OLH LPS model. We've seen excellent take-up from the very first day and at the current rates we will be able to offer extremely good value, on a not-for-profit basis, to the international library community – and all while achieving OA in the humanities.”

Scott Seaman, Dean of Libraries, added “Ohio University appreciates the opportunity to participate in a ground breaking model for open access within the humanities. We are particularly pleased to support the OLH mission to make high quality peer-reviewed content openly available without requiring author fees."
