Tilburg University joins OLH LPS model

We are extremely pleased to announce that Tilburg University has joined the Open Library of Humanities’ Library Partnership Subsidy system. Research at the Tilburg School of Humanities focuses on transformation processes taking place in contemporary society, related to communication and culture, and analyses the underlying moral and ethical questions pertaining to such matters.

The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.

Professor Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed Tilburg: “We are delighted that Tilburg University has joined the Open Library of Humanities funding programme. Open access in the humanities is clearly important but there has often been resistance to an author-pays model. Our system ensures that rigorous peer-reviewed material can be published open access, without any author-facing charges.”
