University of Strathclyde joins OLH LPS model

We are extremely pleased to announce that the University of Strathclyde has joined the Open Library of Humanities’ Library Partnership Subsidy system. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, Strathclyde was rated among the 20 top research intensive universities in the UK.

The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.

Professor Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed Strathclyde: “It is wonderful that Strathclyde has joined the OLH model. We need routes to achieve open access in the humanities disciplines that understand the different contexts for these subjects. With the help of institutions like Strathclyde we will expand the OLH model.”

Existing subscription journals wishing to move to the platform should submit an initial enquiry to martin.eve@openlibhums.org.
