We are extremely pleased to announce that the University of Antwerp has joined the Open Library of Humanities' Library Partnership Subsidy system. The University of Antwerp, as a true research university, strives to excel in as many research areas as possible. This is why the University Board decided in 2010 to define nine frontline research domains and three emerging frontline research domains in which the University of Antwerp is recognized world leader
The Open Library of Humanities is an academic-led, gold open-access publisher with no author-facing charges. With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the platform covers its costs by payments from an international library consortium, rather than any kind of author fee.
Professor Martin Paul Eve, a founder and academic project director of the OLH, welcomed Antwerp University: “We are delighted that Antwerp University has joined the Open Library of Humanities. As our model expands, with the help of universities like Antwerp, we will cement the long-term security of our model for OA in the humanities, with no author-facing charges.”
